Wedding Favours

We initially thought we should leave it to our moms to decide on the wedding favours. they did source out for items and all.. But then after suggestions and sourcing our for stuff, we have decided on one after boy and me went to Alibaba.com. hahaha! yes! online!

We start to look for quotations in April and already confirm with the artwork in May and item was done with production in June! Yes, it was fast and furious. But here's some heads up if you are ordering stuff online via Alibaba.com:

1) Ensure that you read up on their company background
2) Check on their ratings
3) Clientele list
4) Price
5) Shipping - we ended up using our local forwarder to transport the item from China to SG
6) Reviews (not just based on alibaba website, but google for them too)

Our orders went smoothly. We have no problem with the supplier except for the transporting of the items to SG. due to some GST matter and especially when our total cost exceeded a certain amount and that requires some import license for custom clearance.

Must know your thing with this Alibaba purchase okay. But it is highly recommended coz its damn cheap! And our supplier happened to be nice and their product is tip top of super good quality.

Ohhh so yeah, our wedding favour/door gift/berkat is actually a tote bag with a quote saying, "Love makes the world go round".

Hehehe.. just cause i love traveling. haha! nolah.. coz it will relate to the theme of the wedding guest signing area; travel. we made many special memories here in SG. but everything else started when i was in Amsterdam.. and ding dong ding dong.. he proposed me at Paris. exclusive special memories made when we are both traveling. so it kinda mean a lot for us.

What's my take on wedding favours?

i remember telling my dad many years ago that i find the ol' skool snacks were awesome. do you remember the cake topped with cherry? or maybe hard boiled egg in a kotak. so cool right! hahaha! but well.. hahaha.. as simple as that. but as years goes by, i realised the need of giving a realistic/beneficial item for guest so that they will use and not throwing it away or keeping it in the store collecting dust.

I hope our guest will love the tote bag!

Countdown: 20 weeks to go!

April Update

Woah! I didn't blog for almost 4 months already!

Apologies for not being able to write here diligently. Well, I've been busy at work. One of the main reason is due to the lack of manpower in the office. Yep, 5 of my #ATeam decided to leave at the same time from Feb to May. Been having farewell one after another. I've been feeling less motivated at work as my Maid-of-Honour, Joanne Huang, also throw her letter of resignation and already left the department a week ago. Sad :( But life goes on.. Thankfully, i still have Agnes around in the office. This gotta be one of the obstacle of the year before the big day, work.I hope things will get better in the office though..

Anyway, yep, here are some of the things to do checklist. Time check: 8 months more to go~~

Things to do:
1) Wedding Favours (Check for final quotation for the tote bag)
2) Look for tailor (for Boy's and mine Nikah's outfit)
3) Buy mini Play-Doh, lollipop, mini notebook (for kids goodies)
4) Buy dried lavenders
5) Buy rustic strings
6) Buy CDs (for our give-away corner)
7) Rent vintage luggage for Guest signing corner
8) Prepare playlist
9) Buy shoes for the event day (for Boy and me)
10) Look for vendors who can do giant balloons
11) Pack batik outfits for relatives
12) Buy Orchid hair-clips for guest
13) Pre-wedding shoot (to brainstorm for ideas)
14) Go for Marriage Talk/Lesson/Workshop
15) Prepare itinerary for event
16) Boboy's wedding gift (Contact lens, trumpet, shoe, sejadah&tafsir Al-Quran and GoPro)

and etc lah k. these are all i can think of right now.

anyhoos.. i am still stress over the fact that im still fat like a whale. maybe i think i did loose some weight lah but not as kurus as last time. i went for piloxing every week. and will work on gym session at least thrice a week if i can lah okay. maybe my exam stress can help me to lose some kilos. i hope hahaha! and fasting month also! work stress not helping though coz bila stress makan. hahaha!

Okay till our next entry!

Wedding Venue

Venue is very important for us. Since it's gona be a combined wedding, i was already contemplating on having a lot of invites. but you know, my family tree is huge... even by just inviting the very close ones dah mcm kecoh gila. so therefore we figured, let's do it for our parents. one good thing is also that my mom and boy's mom shared the same group of friends. so yeas less worry on the number of pax.

and so! we went through the list of places shown online.. was very excited at first when boy actually initiate to do one at Gardens by the Bay! we went for a recce and got a lil excited!

The flower field looks awesome! the lightings and all. place is huge too.. we enquired and sadly 31 Dec 2017 date is unavailable. saded.... but its ok not meant to be.

Boy being a hipster (AHAHAHAHA!) browse through for more places and suggested The Arts House! yessss i loveeeee museums and stuff. it was going to be such an ideal venue for us! we went through the rooms that we should book and all. even the dates are open for booking. but we kinda missed one thing out. logistics.

everything was perfect.. but let's just say i dont want our guests to be eating on paper plates and plastic utensils. like kesian. we need to find a centralised catering which means my guests won't get to enjoy malay wedding food. hahaha. sorry ah i malay like dat. so i think Nasi Minyak, sambal goreng and ayam masak merah is super important. hahahaha! so yalah.. wat to do.. not meant to be also...

so finally... this option was already agreed by our parents earlier. they went to a wedding there and thought it was a good venue. MRT and buses are readily available right next to it. no problem for transportation.

So yeahh... we have decided to go for The Grassroot Club @ Yio Chu Kang! i think i have yet to share the details for the wedding deco vendor yet... but i think you all should know after looking at this pic. hehehe... place is huge too. and fully air-conditioned! even got the catering part settled coz we got a package for both deco and catering. so zero worry for catering logistics! yay!

went for site recce and food tasting last Saturday. so all is good now.. venue booked 6 months ago. so yep. venue, down!

Henna

hahaha! whoever knows me well enough by now should already know that i don't like to put on henna on my hand. but well of coz, for my wedding, i have to lah.. my mother say one. don't get me wrong, i am not the ngada-ngada kind.. it's more like i pretty much love simplicity and get pretty annoyed when i see stains on my hand. super love henna design.. i love to draw them on my sketch book. but don't like them on my hand. so, i have been googling for simple designs online.. found few nice designs but i can somehow imagine how they will appear when the henna stains be fading... so na uh uh..

but that besides the point, i have already contacted my junior in Marsiling Sec to do my henna and also for my family and friends! she is one awesome henna artist! been eyeing on her and manage to be a kiasu bride-to-be and told her to reserve a slot for me next year. she was so nice knowing that its too early to block dates, she do it anyway! I've got Zubhahenna! I'll do a henna night for my family and friends! coz i know they love doing henna to the max.

and of coz, nowadays we have white henna toooo! i gotta love the white ones. but if one don't know how to design it well, it will look like liquid paper on our hand. hahaha! but really, some look so good like those dreamy laces!

my mom thought the idea of white henna is no go. she said like later no seri. hehehe.. oklah mother..

these are two simple nice designs i found and love much! i will also might change my mind.. and do something like this.

the simpler the better.. don't have to worry much when it starts to fade away. huhuhu! still have a year to go.. at least i got my henna artist secured. designs and all can come in later. and ohh, you can check out @zubhahenna instagram if you are still looking for a henna artist!

Wedding Card

I am still contemplating though if i should design my own card or just use the free ones from the SID package. hmmm.. have yet to see the samples but I'm itching to design one. thought of doing a simple heavy art card with woodfree material paper and prolly a black envelope. but i kinda feeling a bit crafty right now. now only.. later lazy hahaha..

found some nice ones online..

however, they are very floral. very the Colours Of Autumn. hahaha! hmmm... but i like the idea of brown paper. it makes everything look so classic at the same time. brown paper is so hippy. hahaha! its either black or brown for me that is.

nice right? i realised i use too much of nice in this entry. oh wells.. anyways... been busy with school and life. that's why haven been updating much. i will write in more entry soon! don't think there are any readers coz i didn't publish the link to the public. maybe just Boboy who will read this. hehehe.. i love you yusmar yusof! maybe i should start sharing the link. at least can get opinions and feedback for the big day!
